Welcome from the Pastor
“Our mission is to restore people to health through Jesus Christ.” This covers all arenas of life including spiritual, physical, emotional, social, financial, marital and family health.  We want to be a blessing to you and your family.

Pastor Rick Burcham

We have three men nominated to fill the one vacancy on the church board.  Those candidates are:  Rick Falley, Woody Hall, and John McCoy.  We are thrilled to have such qualified men who are willing to serve.  Please be in prayer concerning who God would choose for this ministry.

Our Annual Business Meeting will be on Sun, February 26th, following the morning worship service.  Copies of our financial report and minutes from our 2011 ABM are available for your perusal.  At this time, no proposed changes to our Constitution and By-Laws have been made.

Thanks to your generous giving we were able to raise approximately $2,000 for the project at Wheat State Camp.  This will assist us in impacting young people for Christ.  If you missed last Sunday, or were unable to give at that time, we encourage you to help us provide a place where kids can encounter God.

As soon as we have more details, we will let you know about the work project that is connected to our giving.  At this time, we do not have the date or details.  We have a tentative date of late March or April.

What is Lent?  In the early church, Lent was a time of special preparation for the Easter celebration.  It was a time of repentance, reflection, and sacrifice - reminding us of the suffering of Jesus previous to His death.  We have a special Ash Wednesday service planned, Feb 22nd, to start the Lenton Season.

Suggestions for Practicing Lent:
-Sacrifice something during the Lenton Season to remind yourself to seek the face and heart of God on a daily basis.  Traditionally, meat was abstained from, but you can give up whatever God would lay on your heart.  Some people today give up one or more of these items: television, sweets, chocolate, breads, pop, internet games, movies, eating out, one meal a day, etc.
Sundays are normally excluded from the observance of sacrifice.  In other words, whatever you are giving up, do not give up on Sundays.  Rather, make this a day of celebration of the death and resurrection of our Savior.
I also encourage everyone (who is physically capable) to fast at least one twenty-four hour period a week.

Marriage Encounter is a weekend away from home, family and responsibilities.  Here, in a secluded comfortable environment, a couple is guided  in the discovery of a new way of communication that will help them know each other better.
It is not a retreat, but a program designed to give couples the opportunity to examine their lives together, their strengths and weaknesses, and their attitudes toward each other and their families.
Assemblies of God Marriage Encounter and Healthy Marriage Weekend is based on the belief that the marriage relationship is the most significant, most intimate relationship on earth.
The cost is $75 for a couple, this includes a two night stay and meals.
