How real is the day of Jesus' second coming to you? Perhaps you are of the crowd that secretly thinks, That has been promised for so long it probably won't happen in my lifetime. Probably? Are you willing to risk your preparation for that day on a "probably"? Not me. I don't spend my time mindlessly staring at the sky thinking Jesus will return within the next few seconds. But I live each moment with the awesome belief He could come at any time.
Even now, as I try to contemplate that day, my mind has a difficult time taking it all in. Yet, through the power of the Holy Spirit, the eyes of our heart can dwell on the fact there is one thing we can be sure of - it's going to happen exactly as the Scriputre says:
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command...and with the trumpet call of God" 1 Thessalonians 4:16, NIV.
Does that thought thrill you? Your response will tell you if you are ready for that day. As great as Jesus' return will be for Christians, it will be equally as bad for unbelievers.
Are you prepared for that great day? Are you doing all you can to prepare others?
